Experimental Textiles 2. Block printing.

Printing madness filled a very happy weekend creating and using our blocks. Here are a few photos of my enormous stash of papers!

Prints were made using the positive and negatives of the design and overlaying them onto various papers and fabrics. These were then flooded with a wash of Procion dye. The acrylic paint resists this. Adding the dye changes the look of the print and creates some unexpected results.

The scrap papers and pieces used to clean the blocks were even more interesting…

These are now going to be combined and worked on with simple stitch for next time.

Again, a great weekend with Kim and the others. Inkberrow is a lovely space where everything is done with love and attention. Kim is such an empowering and positive person you just feel thrilled with your creations!
